WildCamp Privacy Policy
Last Updated: April 29, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what WildCamp ("we", "us") collects when you use the WildCamp mobile application and related services and how we use it. WildCamp is operated by WxByte LLC, a Texas-registered business.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Account Information
When you create an account: email address, display name, and an authentication identifier from your chosen provider (email/password, Apple, or Google).
When you sign in with Apple: Apple may share your full name on first sign-in. If you choose "Hide my email", Apple provides a relay address — we never see your real email.
When you sign in with Google: we receive your email and display name as you have authorized in your Google account.
1.2 Content You Create
Reviews, ratings, and tags you submit on locations.
Photos you upload with reviews or user-submitted locations.
Locations you submit, including coordinates, names, and descriptions.
Saved locations and custom lists.
1.3 Device and Usage Information
Approximate location, only when you explicitly grant location permission so the map can center on you. This is not stored on our servers — it is used live in the app.
Crash reports and basic diagnostics from Apple and Google's standard SDKs.
Aggregate counts of map tile downloads, used to enforce monthly download limits — not tied to identifying information beyond your account.
2. How We Use Your Information
To create and manage your account.
To display your reviews, photos, and submitted locations to other users.
To enable features like saved lists, offline map regions, and personalized search.
To process subscription purchases and verify entitlements.
To enforce our Terms of Service, including blocking abusive accounts.

4. Where Your Data Is Stored
Account data, reviews, photos, and submitted locations are stored in Google Firebase, in data centers located in the United States. Files in Firebase Storage and database documents in Firestore are accessible only to authenticated WildCamp users with the appropriate permissions, and to our administrators for moderation purposes.
5. Children

6. Your Rights and Choices
6.1 Access and Correction
You can view and edit your profile, display name, and bio inside the app on the Profile tab.
6.2 Account Deletion
You can delete your account at any time:
In the app: open Settings → Account → Delete Account.
If you no longer have access to the app: email support@wxbyte.com from the email address on the account.
When you delete your account:
Your profile, saved locations, and uploaded photos are permanently removed.
Your reviews and any locations you submitted remain visible to the community but are anonymized — your name is replaced with "Deleted user" and any photos attached to those reviews are removed.
Your Firebase authentication record is deleted, so your email or social provider will no longer recognize the account.
We may retain anonymized backups for up to 30 days for disaster recovery, after which they are purged.
For more detail see the account deletion page.
6.3 California (CCPA) and EEA/UK (GDPR) Residents
If you reside in California, the EEA, or the UK, you have additional rights including the right to know what personal information we hold about you, request a copy, or request deletion. Email support@wxbyte.com from the email on your account to exercise these rights. We do not sell personal information, so opt-outs from sale do not apply.
7. Security
We use Firebase's industry-standard authentication, encrypted-at-rest data storage, and TLS-encrypted transit. No system is 100% secure, but we follow reasonable practices and rely on Google Cloud's security posture for our infrastructure.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted to this page with a new "Last Updated" date. Continued use of WildCamp after a change indicates acceptance of the updated policy.
